Julep Best Pedi Creme Ever

Warning: product review ahead!

Today I'm going to discuss my experience with Julep's 'Best Pedi Creme Ever.' I got my first bottle of this as part of a multi product swap, really pleased I tried it and a little disappointed that I skipped the box that introduced it.

Julep claims that this 'creme' (I think it has more of a lotion texture) is not only moisturizing but also exfoliating and that you'll see noticeable results in two uses. My skin is very dry and very sensitive but I can usually get away with using even heavily scented lotions and creams on my feet. The only problem with that is that only really heavy creams and butters keep my feet soft. Julep's Creme did as promised and moisturized my feet nicely, I didn't notice dramatic results but I didn't get chapped heels while using this even after a full week in flip flops and a San Diego heat wave. It's got a nice non-greasy lotion texture and a very pleasant LIGHT cucumber mint scent. I love that despite the exfoliants it doesn't have a strong scent nor does it conflict with the scent of my regular moisturizer.

I experienced no adverse reactions to this lotion and PURCHASED another bottle last week. I have encouraged my flip flop loving friends to try it and can recommend it to anyone looking for a good foot cream. My only complaint is the size of the tube, it's only 2 oz. at this size it's a bit spendy if you don't get it during a promo.

Julep America the Beautiful + News

Here's my 4th of July mani, this is my own patriotic matte glitter franken called 'melting pot' and an accent nail done in Julep's America the Beautiful. America is two coats, went on very easily and I had NO trouble with formula or coverage.

As you may have noticed, I've been gone for a while... I've been in the hospital due to a car accident and a needing a second surgery. I'm home now and am doing much better. Thank you to everyone who sent me get well messages, I appreciate it.

So how was your 4th of July (if you celebrate) did you rock a patriotic mani too?

OPI Black Spotted over Julep Courteney

I'm still obsessed with black spotted and I'm still slapping on top of every mani I wear... This is Julep Courteney (2 coats) with SV and then black spotted on top. Courteney was a little thick in the bottle so I added thinner and then it was perfect. Juleps cremes are very pigmented and almost always benefit from a little thinner.

I kind of don't like this combo, I love the green on its own, and I obviously love the spotted effect but together they're very swamp thing... Just not my cup of tea I guess

Julep Rose

I'll be back later to post pics of this mani topped with black spotted... But for now this is julep's Rose, 2 coats plus SV. It's really bright and slightly more fuchsia than hot pink in real life. This polish was a little on the thick side but a few drops of polish thinner will fix that right up. Other than that the formula and application were perfect, which is pretty typical of julep polish

I'm back! Julep Susan and Amy

I'm back from the hospital, my operation went well and I should be back on my feet in a few days. I couldn't sleep the night before so I painted my nails... I chose Julep Susan and Amy and used them to make contrasting flowers, this mani made it through my hospital stay and seemed to entertain my nurses.

Julep Natasha

Today I'm wearing julep Natasha. This is a jelly creme that lies halfway in between traffic cone orange and tomato red. It's super bright and a perfect summer color. This is 2 coats plus sv, no shrinkage issues.

Julep Mystery Box Round 2

I ordered my 2nd mystery box just before Christmas and I got it in the mail yesterday. I'm really pleased with the box I got, it came with 3 polishes, cuticle oil, a glass file, 2 sets of appliqués, hand brightener and scrub, and a plumping lipgloss. I already had January so I think I'll be giving it away.

Julep Mandy

Today I'm wearing Julep's Mandy, I got it as a part of my mystery box. Mandy is a super bright neon pink creme and was perfect in two easy to manage coats. Photos are with and without flash, the blurry one is the most color accurate.

Julep Salma

Got this polish as a part of my mystery box, its described as a fire engine red. I think that's pretty accurate, it's a classic type shade of red, pretty, and even in two coats.

Nfu-oh 50

Maggie was pretty, but not terribly special. To correct this I topped it with my favorite flakie, Nfu-oh 50, now Maggie is absolutely gorgeous, but it definitely looks more blue than purple after the addition of the flakes

Julep Maggie

Today I'm wearing Julep's Maggie, a very deep purple shimmer. Thicker than most of my juleps, this was perfect in two coats and plays well with SV. Pictures are showing very blue, but in real life it's more of an eggplant type purple.

Julep Mystery Box

Normally I don't like haul posts, I think they're a little too much like bragging, but I will break my rule for this one. Last week as the last promo of their five days of gifting Julep offered a "box of mystery" for 19.99, I'm a sucker and I bought. After a week of impatient waiting my mystery box arrived today and I am so thrilled! I got 10 bottles of polish, cuticle oil, topcoat, glitter, and 2 nail appliqués. 9/10 colors they debt I don't have and I can always give away the one dupe I was sent. I love Julep products and am labeling this as the best Christmas gift I've ever given myself...

Julep Whitney w/spectraflair topcoat

Today I have on julep's Whitney which is a very nice Taupe-y neutral. It can be worn with just one coat but my pictures show two. On the 2nd day I chose to add a thin coat of spectraflair topcoat because I wanted holo with out changing the base color, the result was subtle and very pretty. Pictures were pre cleanup so I apologize for the mess.

Julep Taylor

Another julep for you... What a surprise right? This is two coats of Taylor with a color club accent nail, SV topcoat over everything. This mani wore really well, took this picture on day three.

Julep Helena with sparkles on top...

So, you've probably figured out by now that I love julep nail polish. Today I'm wearing Helena, a very bright fuchsia. This is the first julep I've had that doesn't look great in just one coat, Helena needed two and would probably have been utter perfection at three. I used SV topcoat and Color Club Candycane on the accent nail.

Julep Jodie

Today's NOTD is Julep's Jodie, I would have never noticed this color on my own, I actually heard about it on the TPF nail care board from another polish fiend with really good taste. Jodie is a very pink rose gold shade, just a hint metallic. Perfect in two coats as usual for julep. I've seen this look much more gold on people with lighter skin but on me it pulls very mauve.

Julep January

Normally I don't go for such a bright red, it really is the color of a perfectly ripe tomato, but I got this as a part of Julep's flash sale and it was too good a deal to pass up. I used 2 coats plus SV top coat, formula was perfect.

1st post ever...

So, I really suck at this blogging thing. I got really into doing my own nails about a year ago, started this blog, and have taken several thousand pictures but haven't (until now) gotten around to posting anything. As I will be posting from my backlog my nail shape and raggedy cuticles will seem to vary greatly with every post, please bear with me. So, with out further ado, here's my 1st posted mani, Julep Trina. With flash in the 1st pic, natural light in the 2nd.
